In Oct 2011, we had FELICITY'S fleece graded at THE CIABA FLEECE EVENT at the Green Mountain Alpaca Spectacular. FELICITY has a Grade 2 Fleece (Super Fine) with Good Brightness, in addition to being very dense. FELICITY carries the genetics of Hemingway, Snowmass Royal Rose, Bueno, Altiplano Gold, and her multi-time Champion dam Cinnamon Gold. Her sire Snowmass Royal Challanger, now deceased, is the 2004 Futurity Color Champion. Royal Challanger consistently passed on his superior phenotype and fleece attributes to his offspring - superb conformation, awesome coverage, fineness, high-frequency style crimp, long staple length and beautiful brightness. ANJELICA is very densely fleeced, with a very nice hand. ANJELICA (JELI) also has a beautiful headtype with full fleece coverage over her entire body. We consider JELI to be on the smallside so we will be breeding her to POLARIS, OLIVER'S sire, this year and then to OLIVER next year. JELI's dam AMARA produced an extremely elite male, AUGGIE, in 2011, when bred to OLIVER. When your shearer stops abruptly to ask questions about the alpaca being shorn, you know you have something GOOD! And AUGGIE is all of that. We originally purchased AMARA for her Supernova genetics to be bred to OLIVER. It was only by chance that she was already bred to Archangel. We are thrilled to have discovered that her breeding to OLIVER has produced a better offspring than her breeding to Archangel did. JELI, however, will not be kicked to the curb. She will be a good production female for us with Legacy Gold, 3P Mr. President, Peruvian Snowmaster, Snowmass Messiah, 3P Augusto, Peruvian Hemingway and Royal Peruvian Apollo in her immediate pedigree, in addition to Supernova and Archangel. MAGGIE is an amazing female who is not only a Champion herself, but also the producer of Champions, including our own True Black Herdsire KANDOR. Steele Magnolia is the offspring of Peaceful Valley Grace, and the indisputable powerhouse of grey genetics, Aussie Rockford. Maggie is an absolutely stunning silver grey girl. Her pedigree is a phenomenal combination of black and grey genetics perfectly balanced with Accoyo/Peruvian bloodlines from Yupanqui, Felix, and Guellermo. Maggie is firmly established as a foundation female. It is usually the studs that get the credit on most farms, but with this girl's track record she handily deserves the title of "stud female". She has produced 5 amazing offspring to date. Maggie is a beautiful medium silver grey with many positive attributes. She possesses perfect conformation, excellent fleece coverage and character, with an endearing personality that makes her standout from the herd. She is a cornerstone foundation female. We are thrilled to announce that we have recently purchased AVALON'S AMBER ROSE, full sister to the matriarch of our herd AVALON'S LAUREL ROSE (ROSIE) who had crossed over the rainbow bridge. Bringing AMBER into our herd is very comforting to us and helps us to always remember ROSIE. AMBER is a 6 X CHAMPION, including the BROWN COLOR CHAMPIONSHIP at the 2006 AOBA NATIONAL SHOW.
